I have been busy making different things for my first craft show! I made this Santos Witch to sell, but I love witches so much that I don't know if I can part with her!

Here is a newest piece that I have finished. It is an Edgar Allan
Poe altered bottle. It has been quite some time since I have altered a bottle so I really enjoyed this!

I have always loved to alter and collage just about anything, so when I saw Mary Jane's class "House of Cards" I just had to sign up! I have learned some wonderful new techniques in this class!! She is a fabulous teacher and many of the things that I have learned I can use in my other mixed media pieces!

For those of you that want to take an art class but think that you can't afford it, consider taking an online class! There are so many awesome classes out there that will give you some basics to run with!!

Here is the box that I made in this class....

I know that it has been a while since I have posted any new art, but I have been making some! When I haven't been visiting colleges with my daughter I have been enjoying the online art classes that I am taking. This is the second summer that I have taken classes through www.artfulgathering.com It is such a wonderful place! Here are some paper clay birds that I learned how to make in the "Flights of Fancy" class.

Here are a few more mini shrines I have created. These are for sale at a local shop and I am thrilled that people like my pieces!! My art is for me, but to have even a few people that think it is worthy of being displayed in their home is an amazing experience!

Mini Shrines

I have been making all shapes and sizes of shrines for the past couple of months! Today I dropped off 5 of these little mini shrines to a local art/crafts shop that really liked them! This is my first time selling my items in a local shop so I am SUPER EXCITED!!! I hope that they sell, but even if they don't just to know that there are a few more people out there that really like my art is still AMAZING to me!! I hope that you all have a wonderful Easter!

Chipboard Potion Bottles

I was  "attempting" to clean out my craft room this morning when I came across some blank chipboard bottles. I had such a great time creating some of these for an Alpha Stamps Halloween swap that I just had to use them up! So here are the potion "bottles" that I made today.

I purchasd the chipboard bottles from Alpha Stamps, though you are all crafty enough to make a shape this simple out of chipboard. The images are also from Alpha Stamps.

Night Time Fun

                                                     Night Time Fun

This is a 6X6 piece on Mixed Media artist paper. I used my gelli plate along with various stencils and paints for much of the background. I can't tell you how much fun I have had playing with my gelli plate! The images used in this piece are by Tumble Fish Studio. I just love the naughty image and quote. Even though you can't see it in this scan I went over all of the starts, moon, etc. with a Sakura Gelly Roll glitter pen and it adds a beautiful shimmer! It is a great pen to have!!

"Spirit" Shrine

This is what I was working on today. I just love the little frozen charlotte doll in there. The photo really doesn't capture this piece. I really need to get a better camera.

My first blog post!

I have been wanting to start a blog for some time, but I have been afraid of whether or not I could actually do a blog and if people would even like what I  post. Today I finally decided that I will not let fear stop me. So here is my first blog post! Please excuse my humble beginning in to blogging. I am not very computer savvy, so I still have a lot to learn.

Be Happy

This is a page from my altered journal/sketchbook. The man on the right is my grandfather when he was a young man. Since his passing I use many of his images in my artwork. The title of my blog "Apple of my eye creations" is what he used to tell me I was whenever he talked with me. It is only fitting that a man that gave me so much be the center of my first blog post. I love you Gramps!
